Forehead Lift / Brow Lift

Forehead Lift / Brow lift / Temporal Lift

Forehead lift, Brow lift, and Temporal lift’s are cosmetic surgeries to improve frown lines, vertical creases, crows feet and sagging eyebrows that develop with age. The procedures are permanent and offer significantly better and long term cheaper results than expensive short lasting Botox treatments. These procedures significantly restore facial youthfulness and can take years off ones apperance.

There are four methods to perform forehead, eyebrow, and temporal lift as follows:

  • Traditional forehead lift / brow lift
  • Endoscopic forehead lift / brow lift
  • Direct brow lift
  • Temporal lift

1. Traditional Forehead Lift / Brow lift

Forehead tissue and skin are moved up into the new position and muscles in the area are relaxed to correct deep frown lines. Excess tissue is cut away. The incision is located behind the frontal hairline from ear to ear so there is no visible scar.

The operation takes 1-2 hours under general anesthesia. Recovery time is one week after surgery.

2. Endoscope Forehead Lift / Brow lift

The endoscopic brow lift differs from the traditional forehead lift in that it’s a minimally invasive surgery. 4 tiny incisions are made behind the hairline then an endoscope is inserted into one of the incisions to view inside the forehead. Wrinkles on the forehead are eliminated and the position of the eyebrows is elevated.

The operation takes 1-2 hours under general anesthesia. Recovery time is one week after surgery.

3. Direct Brow Lift

In cases where the forehead is quite high and the eyebrows are very close to the eyes, the surgeon makes an incision line as close as possible to the upper part of the eyebrow so the scar is practically invisible, then the excess skin is removed leaving the eyebrows in their new position. The direct brow quickly adjusts the shape and positioning of eyebrows. The only downside is a small scar.

4. Temporal Lift

The Temporal lift is a procedure that deals with the outer part of the eye such as crows feet, small wrinkles in the area and the brow being flat or slanted downwards.

The incision is above the ear, approximately 5 cm behind the hairline. The skin and the muscle covering one-third of the eyebrow are pulled up. Once the eyebrow curve is improved, the position is fixed with sutures.

The operation takes 1-2 hours under local anesthesia. Recovery time is one week after surgery.
