Prepare a Medical History Report

Your medical history report is a record of previous treatments from physicians and hospitals. Reports may vary in details and length, depending on the extent of your medical history.

A psychological evaluation is also required in order to determine if there are any mental health concerns that could influence an individual’s state of mind and to assess a person’s readiness to undergo the physical and emotional trauma during the transitional process. A letter from psychiatrist must be presented after the evaluation.

1. Prepare a Medical History Report

Your medical history report is a record of previous treatments from physicians and hospitals. Reports may vary in details and length, depending upon the extent of your medical history. But all reports generally contain common details and information, such as physical examination as well as focused pre-anesthesia physical examination that includes an assessment of the airway, lungs, and heart with documentation of vital signs. Other medical information such as vision, hearing, and nervous system responses may also be required. Unexpected abnormal findings on the physical examination should be investigated before your elective surgery.

General Tests

- Complete Blood Count (CBC)
- Electrolytes
- Anti-HIV
- Hepatitis screening
- Chest X Ray

A blood test will be performed to check your overall health, and you will likely have an electrocardiogram – an EKG, where electrodes placed on your chest – to measure your heart function. If there are any concerns about your lungs, you may be required to have a chest X-ray.

Required test before sex reassignment surgery

A psychological evaluation is required in order to determine if there any mental health concerns that could influence an individual’s state of mind and to assess a person’s readiness to undergo the physical and emotional stresses of the transitional process. 3. Visa

When planning your trip, please make sure to obtain the required visa to stay in Thailand. If you’re unsure whether you need visa or which visa category you should apply for, please contact a royal Thai embassy in your country.

Those traveling from other countries should consult the royal Thai embassy’s website for their country for requirements and conditions.

Travelers from the United States and Canada may enter Thailand exempt from any visa requirement for a period of 30 days under the conditions as follow.

  • The purpose of the travel is for tourism only.

  • Travelers must have a confirmed airline tickets demonstrating that they are flying out of Thailand within 30 days.

  • Each traveler must have sufficient funds amounting to 10,000 Thai baht in cash. Families must have 20,000 Thai baht.

  • Travelers are allowed to bring 50,000 in Thai baht in cash into and out of Thailand. Foreign currency may be brought in for an unlimited amount. But any amount of foreign currency equaling US$20,000 or above must be declared to customs.

  • All matters regarding the final decision to allow entry into Thailand are at the discretion of the Thai Immigration Officers.

  • This visa may not be extended, but it is possible to repeat the visa exempt process by flying out of and back into Thailand. You may not be eligible to repeat it, however, by traveling overland by car, bus or train. And, again, entry permission is at the discretion of each Thai Immigration Officer. Some officers will not allow repeated entry if they think you may have “too many” visa exempt entries. To avoid any issue regarding the visa exempt rule, there are other alternatives available.

  • In the case of receiving a tourist visa for reasons of medical treatment, the visa extension can be provided by the hospital.

  • Important : Make sure you retain and keep your immigration departure card when going through Thai Immigration. You must have it in order to exit the country.
