Forehead Lift / Temporal Brows Lift
Forehead lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure to correct the winkles and deep frown lines in the forehead skin, including crow feet and sagging eyebrows. This helps restore youthfulness and confidence for the patients.
There are two methods to perform a forehead and eyebrow lift as follows:
- Traditional forehead lift
- Endoscopic forehead lift
1. Traditional forehead lift
The incision is located behind frontal hair line from ear to ear. Forehead tissue and skin are moved up. The surgeon relaxes some muscles to correct deep frown lines, then cuts the excess tissue and stitches at the incision line.
2. Endoscope forehead lift
This is minimally invasive surgery method where only tiny incisions are made on the patient. The surgeon makes a few small incisions behind the hairline. They will insert an endoscope into one of the incisions to view inside the forehead tissue to eliminate wrinkles on forehead and elevate the position of the eyebrows.

Temporal Brows Lift, Brows lift Surgery
Temporal brow lift is a procedure that concerns crow feet or the problem of lateral outer one third of the brow being completely flat or slanted downwards. This procedure can fix the flows and small wrinkles in the brows area, and the corners of the eyes.
The incision is above the ear approximately 7-10 cm behind the hairline. The skin and the muscle covering one third of the eyebrow is then pulled up. Once the eyebrow curved is improved, the position is fixed with sutures.
If the forehead is quite high, and the eyebrows are very close to the eyes, the surgeon would not be able to make an incision above the ear so as to avoid the scar. Instead, the incision would be made on the eyebrows for the eyebrow lift.
The operation takes 1-2 hours under local anesthesia. Recovery time is one week after surgery.

- Asymmetric eyebrows
- Swelling and bruising
Preparation for forehead lift or temporal brow lift surgery
Consult with the surgeon to choose the most suitable option and ensure you are a good candidate.
Undergo physical examination to ensure there is no health condition that may affect the surgery
Wash your hair before surgery with germicidal shampoo to prevent infection. Don’t use any chemical spray.
Stop certain medicines that hinder blood clotting, such as aspirin, Ibuprofen for at least 2 weeks before
Control pain by medication or cold compression
Keep the head elevated for at least 1-2 weeks after surgery to minimize post-op swelling and protect the healing incision
Gentle hair wash is possible two days after surgery to clean off dry blood and prevent infection
Stitches are removed within seven days after surgery
Normal activities can be resumed one week after surgery. Exercise may resume 3-4 weeks after surgery.
Results of forehead lift and temporal brow lift
The procedure can widen the forehead and lift eyebrows, resulting in a proportionate and youthful face. For those with downward-slanting eyebrows, the temporal lift will help elevate the brows and immediately create a curve which, again, creates a youthful appearance.
